【Pls look at the top comment first】I'm glad to recommend this very decent melodic rock release from hidden Finnish jewel Androids, a big secret in the late 1980s. Interestingly, the band's name attracted me among various Nordic groups. After hearing this debut "Let It All Out", I think it's about time to share them with fans and keep them into my Nordic melodic rock collections.
Androids can be found on heavyharmonies with their only debut released in 2008. Actually, the band did not come out in the noughties onwards. From either their music arrangements or their looks, Androids is an absolute 1980s symbol and the original releasing year of "Let It All Out" is 1988, but its re-released version (2008) made them known by more people outside Finland, that means this hidden gem was spread to the world after 20 years.
On the album cover, there are four members without drummer. Actually, Androids is a typical five-piece band with keyboards. Musically, most tracks from the album feature keyboards on the vital role. The voice of Tommy "Scarlette" Erikssonin also takes on typical 1980s features, reminding me of some other frontmen who were active during 1980s glorious years.
Androids could have become a big name at least in Europe like many other Nordic bands and artists who were widely spread overseas. Since they came out in 1987, their album was only distributed in Finland and Spain without further promotion in most European countries. That is to say, once they were popular domestically, but less-known abroad due to the financial problems occurring with the label at that time.
The first hit of Androids "Same As You" was released in 1987, with a matching video played over and over on national television in 1987-88. Another hit is "When The Sun Turns To Rain", an acoustic ballad with romantic harmonicas, which won a national TV-Show called "Levyraati" and was over Roxette's "Listen To Your Heart". The theme titled song "Let It All Out" was also filmed into a music video, so there are altogether three music videos among all the ten tracks for album promotion, which was originally created and produced with dedication. Besides, "Hard Lovin' Girl", "Crawl", "10,000 Years" as well as this track "Runnin' Around" are rarely mentioned but highly recommended. Anyway, don't miss any track from "Let It All Out" to catch 1980s vibes by nostalgic, pleasing and catchy tunes from Androids.
Since the failure in overseas promotion, Androids gradually faded away with no more releases into the following 1990s. Twenty years later in 2008, Australian record label Suncity Records re-leased this hidden debut, which also has distributed many other albums of various hair metal bands and solo artists including Blue Tears, Dirty Rhythm, Slash Puppet, Fashion Police, Schoolboy Crush, Sweet Teaze, Lessdress (POL), Daniel MacMaster and more.
Originally, the album was released only on the forms of cassette and LP by Flamingo (FIN) and Hilargi (ESP) Records. This time its CD form was engineered with better and more polished sounds. Hope this remastered version of "Let It All Out" could be known by more and more listeners outside Finland from big continents Europe, America and even Asia because Androids had planned to prompte this album in Japan but finally fell through. If you love Androids's precious "Let It All Out", keep it into your melodic rock collections and share it with your friends to let it all out.
