Studio Tenn and Patrick Cassidy are excited to welcome Judy Kuhn and John-Mark McGaha to Monday's edition of Studio Tenn Talks!
Four time Tony Award nominee, Judy Kuhn most recently appeared in the critically acclaimed Trevor Nunn directed production of Fiddler on the Roof at the Menier Chocolate Factory and in London’s West End for which she received 2020 Olivier Award nomination. On Broadway she starred as Helen Bechdel in Fun Home (Tony & Drama League Award Nominations) a role she created in the original Public Theater production for which she won the 2014 Lucille Lortell Award.
Judy sang the title role in Disney's Pocahontas as well as the in the sequel Pocahontas II: Journey To A New World. Other film and television appearances include: Enchanted, Elementary (CBS) Hope & Faith (ABC), Law & Order (NBC), All My Children (ABC), The Secret Life of Mary Margaret...(HBO), My Favorite Broadway: The Leading Ladies (PBS), The Kennedy Center Honors (CBS), The Les Miserables 10th Anniversary Concert (PBS), In Performance At The White House (PBS), and the independent feature Day on Fire in which she costarred and performed the soundtrack with John Medeski.
John-Mark McGaha is a Studio Tenn favorite and is starring in the upcoming Signed, Sealed, Delivered | John-Mark McGaha Sings Stevie Wonder. Broadway World calls his voice "crystal-clear perfection." Singer, storyteller, actor, and multi-instrumentalist John-Mark McGaha starred Off-Broadway in the musical Cafe A Gogo. Other credits include playing jazz great Lionel Hampton in Tuxedo Junction; Smokey Joe's Cafe; Violet; The Ray Charles Legacy; The Sinatra Legacy; and The Cash Legacy at Nashville's historic Ryman Auditorium. Television appearances include a musical guest spot in BET’s Centric Celebrates Selma: 50th Anniversary Music Special. The Birmingham, Alabama native began playing classical piano at the age of five. McGaha attended Birmingham Southern College as well as American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA) in New York. His central passion is worshipping God in spirit and truth. He serves as Director of Contemporary Worship and Arts at Trinity United Methodist Church in Birmingham. John and wife Grace have five beautiful children.
