What are we thinking comparing the Sonos Roam to the Anker Soundcore? A comparison between a $50 and a $230 Bluetooth wireless portable speaker hardly seems fair. But fair for whom?
Anker has established itself as a company that creates a lot of products that nail the value proposition. Affordable, rather than cheap, we often have a great experience with things like their power banks and USB cables. Their Bluetooth wireless products are also some of the best out there for the buck. That means that Sonos has to work that much harder to stay ahead and justify its pricing.
The Sonos Roam is the original wireless audio company's latest entry into the portable audio market. They started a year ago with their watermelon-sized Move, which is their first portable unit that could be used outside the home. Both the Roam and the Move have all the Sonos technology onboard. However, the Roam was meant to be put in a bag and taken to the beach like the Anker Soundcore we're pitting it against.
