You might not know it, but your vag needs to breathe. Yup, your vagina has a mind of her own, and she has a lot to say about your panties. Madge the Vag talks with gynecologist Dr. Ruth Tessler to find out what underwear will keep your vag in tip top shape. Here are three tips when it comes to choosing your underwear.
Your vagina need to breathe, just like your mouth! By getting air down there, you will keep your vaginal bacteria balanced and avoid infections. So, how do you get your vag to breathe? An oxygen mask? No.
It’s Cotton or Nothing.
When choosing underwear, go all cotton. If you wear nylons or tights, Dr. Tessler recommends cutting the crotch out of the panties to let your vagina breathe. Did someone say crotchless panties? She even suggests going commando when you can! I like the sound of that!
If you’re wearing underwear that is too tight or rubs you the wrong way (literally), get rid of them! According to Dr. Tessler, thongs or g strings are not the best choice when it comes to panties. They usually are not cotton and sometimes they rub from the back to the front, which means bacteria can travel from your back door to your front door and cause infection. No thanks!
