In this video we describe briefly what 'pressure' is - a way of describing the intensity of a force. In other words, it's a way of describing how concentrated a force is. The greater the area it's applied over, the more diluted its effect becomes, and we can say the pressure is relatively small.

If the area it's being applied to is small, however, the force is concentrated, and the resultant pressure is relatively large.
