(30 Nov 2016) VICTORIA'S SECRET ANGELS GET READY FOR THE SHOW
Jasmine Tookes is the third black model chosen to wear the Victoria's Secret Fantasy bra, considered the piece de resistance of the racy catwalk display.
The bra, glimmering with thousands of gemstones, was presented backstage ahead of the fashion show in Paris Wednesday (30 NOV. 2016).
It was designed exclusively for Victoria's Secret by Eddie Borgo and hand-crafted with stones by AWMouzannar.
It took some 700 hours of craftsmanship.
"It is so beautiful. It's covered in white diamonds and emeralds and it has about 9,000 gemstones. It cost $3 million, so stunning," gushed Tookes backstage, as she was having her hair done.
Twenty-five-year-old Tookes said she had a molding of her upper body done, on top of which the bra was constructed.
While the bra may be perfect for the runway presentation, Tookes joked that it might not be suited for everyday wear and she probably wouldn't want to go for a jog in it.
"It's very heavy; it weighs more than 450 karats. It weighs down on my shoulders a little bit, but it's so worth it," she said.
Fellow Angel Martha Hunt was excited about the music stars joining them on the catwalk for the show.
"The performers this year are amazing. The Weeknd, Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga, I mean, those three artists are so incredible," she said, on the hair and make-up chair.
Other models expected to walk the show include Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid, Bella Hadid, Lily Aldridge, Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio and Lily Donaldson.
