Pulled the trigger on the New Zealand made Kids Ride Shotgun Pro frame-mounted kids seat, and the optional Kids Ride handlebars.
Highly recommend this product.
Turns out everything on my bike was non-standard sizing, requiring fitting of provided spacers and countless adjustments.
Do not be put off by my circus antics - I made a couple of stupid mistakes that greatly lengthened the installation process - but if you're at all concerned, just get your local bike shop to install the kit.
Or just, y'know, read the instructions...
Lydia LOVES this thing, and after only a couple of days riding in the cockpit of Dad's enduro, she's making huge leaps in mastering her balance bike.
Suddenly, bikes are the coolest thing in the world.
Note - I'm wearing my full-face helmet to avoid being smashed in the face by the back of hers, and I'm riding bowlegged; positioning of seat and bars still requires some fine tuning, don't expect to get it 100% right the first time.
Disclaimer - Kids Ride did not provide nor discount the kit, did not sponsor this video, and had no input into the making of this video.
All registered trademarks of Kids Ride including Shotgun and Shotgun Pro remain their exclusive IP, yadda yadda, etc.
If you're looking at a competing product like the Mac Ride, note that Kids Ride are a local NZ company, and their website claims they channel profits back into local clubs and trails.
IMHO, that's not a bad thing to be contributing to, and the build quality is excellent.
