An 18 year old male reported to Dental kraftzz with a mucocele on the lower lip. Enucleation of mucocele was performed under LA with scalpel by Dr Faizan Sharif. 2 Sutures were placed and advised medication for the same.
MUCOCELE : A non-cancerous cyst-like space in the mouth that contains mucus. Lip biting and trauma to the face or mouth are common causes. Oral mucocele are most frequently seen in people younger than age 20. Mucoceles often appear on the inside of the lower lip. They're typically painless and clear or bluish. Sizes vary. Mucoceles often go away without treatment. However, removal of the salivary gland might occasionally be required.
