With FII selling over Rs 10,000 cr in December so far, ET NOW’s managing editor Nikunj Dalmia feels “Markets are in a spot of bother.” The core fundamentals of companies, FY23 outlook and the view of economy – all hold strong. So, what has changed and why are FIIs selling?
“In the short to medium term, the temptation to book profit is very large because India has been a performing market,” he adds. He reads into the FII selling as adjustment in portfolio & valuations, but not a change of heart in terms of economy. Few weeks back, FII selling was being diluted by DII buying however the latter’s intensity is now decreasing. “Does this means domestic investors are now running out of cash?
