Nyepi or "The day of silence" is the most unusual Bali holiday. In this day, the airport is closed, all the shops are closed, nobody is allowed to get out of the house, watch TV, use the internet, use electricity or do anything entertaining. It's a day of meditation and for some also a day of fasting and keeping a vow of silence for the day.
However, this day is preceded by the most laud day of the year, the day of the Ogoh-Ogoh parade when demonic statues (called Ogoh-Ogoh) are paraded through town in a loud ceremony before being burned to ashes in cemeteries.
This vlog is for anyone wanting to see first-hand how it is to visit in Bali during Nyepi Day.
