I made an edition with the best image and video found on YouTube as a tribute to a great gymnast and her art
In search of true Artistic Gymnastics
No, we didn't know what artistic gymnastics was until they started posting videos of orphic dancers from the past (70s and 80s) on YouTube. Until then, the gymnastics we knew on TV was the gymnastics of strength, of athletic dance, very far from the poetry and refinement of a particular Soviet school. This school began to crumble in the 90s until it was lost in recent times, but it started to be remembered thanks to YouTube. The Orphic dancers ended up having a disadvantage compared to the athletic dancers, because the expense spent on the art hurt them when performing the acrobatics - they got more tired, of course. Therefore, in current gymnastics, there is almost no dancing, because gymnasts save all their energy for acrobatics, which guarantees medals and a higher grade. If art had been more valued, if since the 80s they had given medals that also rewarded the most artistic, perhaps the situation would be different.
