We Follow Jesus NOT Torah or 10 Commandments
Don’t let any Jew or 7th Day Adventist or Messianic Torah following Christin try to convince you that following Jesus means following the Torah the Law of Moses or the 10 Commandments. Jesus did not come preaching Torah, 10 Commandments, the Law of Moses, Jesus came preaching the Kingdom of God. The Jews, even Messianic Jews, will try to convince you that what Jesus really meant is you should just follow the Torah, the Law of Moses, that you should just follow the Bible. Jesus was NOT pointing to the Law and the Prophets. The Law and the Prophets and the Torah were fulfilled by Jesus, and Jesus came preaching the Kingdom of God, the Kingdom of Heaven. His message, when Jesus says; “Follow Me” and when He says things like; “If you love Me keep My commandments”, He was not talking about the Torah, He was talking about the words that He speaks. You know, a lot of Christians today think that following Jesus means following their Bible, and if they understand the Bible more and more and more then they get closer to God. Well, a lot of Jews think the same thing too, they think that following Jesus means that they understand the Law better and better, that they try to follow it closer and closer and that THAT means obeying the commands of Jesus. THAT IS NOT WHAT JESUS MEANT, and to such people Jesus said this in John chapter 5:38-40 He says; “But you do NOT have His word abiding in you, because whom He sent, HIM YOU DO NOT BELIEVE. You search the Scriptures, for in them you THINK you have eternal life, and THESE ARE THEY WHICH TESTIFY OF ME! But you are NOT willing to come to ME that you may have life.” So many Christians and Jews alike SAY that they believe in Jesus, but they do not teach the commands of Jesus, they teach the 10 commandments, they teach Torah, they teach “Biblical principles”, and they tell men and women everywhere, “Go back to the Bible, read this book and you will be saved.” They THINK salvation is found in the book, whether they call it the Torah, the Law of Moses or the Bible. You can NEVER be saved by any other way other than JESUS CHRIST HIMSELF. JESUS IS ALIVE! You need to hear from Him! He will speak to you He will lead you because He loves you. We are not led by the book. Men and women of God are led by every single word that proceeds from the mouth of GOD, and because Jesus is ALIVE, He will speak directly into your heart. This book right here is NOT a “blueprint” for our life, there is NO such thing. The Bible is NOT Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth, and the Torah, the Law and the Prophets are NOT a “blueprint”. Jesus promised the gift of the Holy Spirit to lead us into ALL truth (John 14-16). He promised to teach us ALL things. He did not promise the Torah, the Law and the Prophets, He didn’t promise ANY man to lead us and guide us. The promise was the Holy Spirit. So, the question is, HAVE YOU TRULY RECEIVED THE HOLY SPIRIT? Are you hearing the WORD OF GOD that comes from HEAVEN? Or do you just have this book right here, do you have the Torah in front of you thinking that you are a Torah, Messianic Jew or Christian. Do you think that you are Torah observant? Or “biblical”? Have you really received Jesus with the gift of the Holy Spirit? Or do you just follow your OWN understanding of the Law and the Prophets, the Torah, the Bible, the Scripture or whatever you call it. WHERE IS YOUR HEART TODAY? Do you REALLY KNOW the GOD of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob? Do you REALLY know the GOD that you THINK that you believe in? May the grace of Jesus be with you.
