HAKRA CANAL ہاکڑا کینال or ہاکڑا نہر is one of the feeding canal in formally Bahawalpur State. Nawab of Bahawalpur Nawab Sadiq Khan V initiated settlement process in State of Bahawalpur during 1923 to 1929. For this purpose Sulemanki Headworks was constructed on the Satluj river near India Pakistan Border (Now) and northern corner of Bahawalpur State in 1925. Three canals are orignating from Sulemanki Headworks and Fordwa is one of them. Fordwa Canal is further divided into many sub canals and Hakra Canal is one of them which feeds Fort Abbas and its surroundings.
