I finally got out on a solo 3 day backpacking adventure with the Clostnature Polaris 2 person tent for a first impressions video and the Bushbox LF Titanium folding wood stove for cooking and to have a great little campfire at night. If you are looking at purchasing the Clostnature tent, this video will give you a good look at it with some of my pros and cons.
Since my camping spots tend to be very rocky it’s difficult to get tent stakes into the ground. A while back, I was looking for a tent that would set up fast without tent stakes, with the features I really want at an affordable price. The Clostnature Polaris 2 person tent comes really close to checking all the boxes. The tent performed really well. I was expecting a little rain but the storms kept missing me so I wasn’t able to test how waterproof the seams are. It’s a great little tent for the $79 I spent on it. The Polaris is a bit heavy at 4 lbs. 4 oz. on my scale with the extra seam sealant and guy lines I attached (not including tent stakes or stuff sack) but it’s worth every pound. The major things that drew me to this tent were the price tag of $79, the Deep Green color, the awing type vestibule that can be set up to sit under during the rain, the free standing nature of the tent, ease of set-up, “D” shaped doors, double zippers and the low walls on the bathtub floor. The stitching looks good as well. It could be the perfect 3 season tent...IF it stands up to a good old rain storm. FYI, I have also purchased the Kelty 2 Man Field Tent which is almost identical to the Clostnature Polaris 2 person tent. The Kelty version is about a pound heavier and slightly smaller and made of coyote brown 70D nylon. IF the Kelty version weighted 3.5 lbs. it would be the perfect tent for me.
