Dr. Steve goes over his basic hip flexor/psoas treatment protocol. It includes IFC, Heat, ART, shockwave therapy and usually a low back adjustment. With more people working from home than ever, sitting at a computer all day has caused a new pandemic in psoas injuries and anterior pelvic tilt.
Your psoas is located deep in the low back and can affect both sides of your spine. Many patients have come in with front sided hip pain only to waste months of treatment time getting diagnostic tests that showed absolutely nothing. If your Psoas seems tight to you or you sit all day at a desk get in today, the longer you wait the longer it takes to heal!
Your psoas treatment at our chiropractic clinic usually includes:
IFC and heat- At the clinic Dr. Steve will heat your injured low back to increase blood flow during treatment. IFC at our Oakville clinic is a electric stimulation device that is applied with suction vacuums that helps relieve pain in the affected area. It increases blood flow and overall relaxes the muscle around the spine.
Shockwave Therapy for psoas- Shockwave is a pneumatic gun that hits a bullet through an applicator onto the affected area. The shockwave unit is usually adjusted between 1.8 and 4.4 BAR and the psoas is "hit" between 1200-1500 hit on the injured side. In the link below there is a more in depth explanation of Shockwave treatment.
