"Is Government Dead? - The Future of Governance -"

The Sasakawa Peace Foundation has been implementing the project entitled "Asian Opinion Leaders' Exchange" since the fiscal year 2014. The objective of this project is to enhance mutual understanding and strengthen collaboration between Japan and Asian countries through inviting Asian opinion leaders to Japan and engaging them in dialogues with Japanese policy makers, scholars and business leaders.
On April 7, 2016, the Sasakawa Peace Foundation organized a public seminar on governance in Bangladesh by inviting Prof. Gowher Rizvi of the Advisor to the Prime Minister for International Affairs, Bangladesh, who is the first invitee of this project in the fiscal year 2016. Prof. Rizvi has been active globally as a prominent expert on international relations. He has taught at the University of Oxford and Harvard University and has been active for the work of international non-profit organizations such as the Ford Foundation and the Asia Society. He assumed the current position of Advisor to the Prime Minister for International Affairs in 2009.
Bangladesh is located at the crossroad between Southeast Asia and South Asia and situated at the geopolitically important juncture. At the public seminar, Prof. Rizvi gave a lecture entitled "Is Government Dead? - The Future of Governance" and addressed the current situations of Bangladesh and its future relationship with Japan.
