Session Description
This educational session will update the pediatric practitioner on changes in the epidemiology and medical management of children and adolescents with eating disorders. Key features of the 2015 Society for Adolescent Health and Medicine Position Paper on the Medical Management of Restrictive Eating Disorders in Adolescent and Young Adults will be discussed, and an evidence-based change in approach to refeeding in anorexia nervosa will be presented. Preliminary results of our combined UCSF/Stanford NIH refeeding study will be discussed.
