Met haar film ‘Papagalo, What’s the time?’ gaat ze op vraag van Leiedal de dialoog aan over het belang van modernistisch erfgoed. De film volgt kinderen die Joegoslavische kinderspelen spelen. Hun bewegingen accentueren de dynamiek en openheid van dit uniek staaltje architectuur.
Meet visual artist Ingel Vaikla. She has been filming at the former 1958 World’s Fair Yugoslavia pavilion and current school in Wevelgem, Flanders. Featuring her film Papagalo, what’s the time? she ventures into a dialogue on the importance of modernist heritage, at the request of regional developer Leiedal. The film follows children playing Yugoslavian children’s games, their movements accentuating the dynamics and openness of this unique piece of architecture.
