Today, we have a fantastic restoration for you. This is a 1950s Husky Pressed Steel Dumptruck that came to us from Canada. We picked up this old toy on eBay, with very little knowledge about what it was. Not even the seller was sure what it was, as it was originally listed as a Nylint. Having no idea about the toy is what intrigued us so much.
After we received the toy, we started to do some research of our own. From what we could tell this toy was produced by the Husky Pressed Steel Company in Ontario, Canada. Due to the lack of US toy production in Post-War Canada, it was not uncommon for Canadian companies to produce rebranded toys from larger brands. According to the Canadian Museum of History's Website, "...copies of toys produced by American toy companies, but made in Canada after the U.S. manufacturers had ceased production..." Looking at various pictures on the internet, we found that this Husky Construction Dumptruck is extremely similar to Structo toys of the same period (throughout the 1950s). So much so, that when we were looking for replacement tires (which yielded unsuccessful results), we saw the exact same rims and tires, except that they were branded with Structo insignias. Being that the parts for this toy are unobtainable, we had to approach this job with extreme caution, as we did not want to lose anything along the way. Once again, feel free to sit back, relax, and join us as this old dump truck is brought back to its former glory.
We also wanted to give a special shoutout to Cerakote for helping out the channel and providing us with some great products. We have been using Cerakote way before we decided to post our restorations on Youtube. They truly have a superb product that works on everything from automotive trim, all the way to the windows and tires on our toys.

Let us know what you all think, should we do more of these rare foreign models on this channel? Maybe some other toys from the 1950s? Possibly something other than toys?
Hope you guys enjoyed the video; Please leave a like and subscribe. Give us some ideas for future projects, and with enough support we will continue to make content that you like.
