This is Part 1 on how to crochet a poinsettia Christmas flower for holiday home decor. Use it as a 3D applique and stitch or pin it onto curtains, hats, scarves, table runners, afghan blocks, or attach them to a long ribbon or crocheted chain to make a festive garland.
See Part 2 ([ Ссылка ]) for adding additional rounds to make a square that can easily be joined with other squares to make larger projects, such as blankets, shawls, scarves, or tote bags.
Skill Level. Intermediate.
Techniques in Part 1: Magic circle, slip stitch, chain, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, extended double crochet, standing stitches, working in the back loop, and needle join (aka invisible join).
Techniques in Part 2: Making a square from a six-petal flower and catching strands of leaf tips in later stitches.
Tools. G/6 (4.0 mm) hook, yarn needle, sewing needle, and scissors.
Size of flower (Part 1): 5.5” (14 cm) diameter.
Size of square (Part 2): 6” x 6” (15 cm x 15 cm)
