Ok here’s the no talking version. ;)
Clean tone is a 1988 G&L custom made ASAT into a 2004 Matchless Nighthawk. You really need an 80s G&L.
Tim is running at 18 volts. Version 1.5. (I know what I said.)
Klon is an original late 90s. Pots check out. Gold box long tail horsey. Even though the horsey is the actual centaur after which the pedal is named. Why we call it a horsey…who knows. Why do we pay $10k for it?
Conclusion: I did not keep the Klon Centaur. Thought my clean tone sounded better without it, and the Tim sounded better as a drive. I did not keep it as an investment, even though they continue to rise in value, because part of their value is in the undisturbed goofed circuit. These are only getting older and will wear out, and once they're repaired, the value is much less. And Bill's not repairing anything.
