Homemade Nasi Kandar (English)
Nasi Kandar is a popular Malaysian dish, commonly served along with various types of curries and other dishes. Please try our version of Homemade Nasi Kandar served Kari Udang, Kari Sotong (Nasi Kandar Style), Kari Ikan, Daging Masak Hitam, Ayam Goreng Mamak Style and Kobis Goreng (Nasi Kandar Style). Best served with boiled egg, salted egg and ladies finger. Not to forget kuah banjirrr!
Kari Udang (Nasi Kandar Style)
1 medium sized onion
1 stalk of curry leaves
1 medium sized tomato
1 green chili
1 and ½ tablespoon of ginger garlic paste
2 tablespoon of fish curry powder
1 tablespoon of chili powder
½ teaspoon of turmeric powder
10 medium sized prawn
½ cup coconut milk
Salt as required
Chopped coriander leaves
Kari Sotong (Nasi Kandar Style)
Use same ingredient as Prawn Curry. Add 4 to 5 medium sized squid.
Kobis Goreng (Nasi Kandar Style)
½ teaspoon cumin seed
½ teaspoon mustard seed
1 stalk curry leaves
1 small onion
½ medium sized cabbage
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
½ tsp cumin powder
Kari Ikan
1 teaspoon fenugreek
1 teaspoon cumin seed
1 stalk curry leaves
1 medium sized onion
3 cloves of garlic
1 medium sized tomato
1 and ½ tsp of ginger garlic paste
1 green chilli
3 tablespoon of fish curry powder
1 and ½ tablespoon of chili powder
1 teaspoon of turmeric powder
Tamarind (size of a ping pong ball) – mix with water
8 small pieces of Tenggiri fish (can use any preferred fish such as Bawal)
Chopped coriander leaves
5-7 ladies finger
Daging Masak Hitam
1 medium sized onion
1 medium sized tomato
5-7 bird’s eye chilli
10 dried chilies (soaked in hot water until soft)
Blend all these ingredients and keep aside.
1 cinnamon
2-star anise
3 cardamom
1 stalk of curry leaves
2 Pandan leaves
2 tablespoon of ginger garlic paste
300 grams of beef (cut into few pieces)
¼ - ½ cup dark soy sauce
1 cup water
Cook until beef is tender and soft. Add more water if needed.
Serve with white rice, mix all curries together and enjoy!

Nasi Kandar (Bahasa Melayu)
Nasi Kandar adalah hidangan Malaysia yang popular, biasanya disajikan bersama dengan pelbagai jenis kari dan hidangan lain. Cuba versi Nasi Kandar buatan sendiri yang disajikan Kari Udang, Kari Sotong (Nasi Kandar Style), Kari Ikan, Daging Masak Hitam, Ayam Goreng Mamak Style dan Kobis Goreng (Nasi Kandar Style). Paling sedap disajikan dengan telur rebus, telur masin dan jari wanita. Tidak dilupakan kuah banjirrr!
Kari Udang (ala Nasi Kandar)
1 biji bawang besar
1 tangkai daun kari
1 biji tomato bersaiz sederhana
1 cili hijau besar
1 dan ½ sudu pes bawang putih halia
2 sudu besar serbuk kari ikan
1 sudu besar serbuk cili
½ sudu teh serbuk kunyit
10 udang bersaiz sederhana
½ cawan santan
Garam mengikut keperluan
Daun ketumbar yang dicincang
Kari Sotong (ala Nasi Kandar)
Gunakan ramuan yang sama dengan Udang Kari. Masukkan 4 hingga 5 sotong bersaiz sederhana.
Kobis Goreng (ala Nasi Kandar)
½ sudu teh biji jintan
½ sudu teh biji sawi
1 batang daun kari
1 biji bawang kecil
½ kubis bersaiz sederhana
1 sudu teh serbuk kunyit
½ sudu kecil serbuk jintan
Kari Ikan
1 sudu teh halba
1 sudu teh biji jintan kecil
1 batang daun kari
1 biji bawang besar
3 ulas bawang putih
1 biji tomato bersaiz sederhana
1 ½ sudu kecil pes bawang putih halia
1 cili hijau
3 sudu besar serbuk kari ikan
1 ½ sudu besar serbuk cili
1 sudu teh serbuk kunyit
Tamarind (size bola ping pong) - campurkan dengan air
8 keping kecil ikan Tenggiri (boleh menggunakan ikan pilihan seperti Bawal)
Daun ketumbar yang dicincang
5-7 bendi
Daging Masak Hitam
1 biji bawang besar
1 biji tomato bersaiz sederhana
5-7 biji cili api
10 cili kering (direndam dalam air panas hingga lembut)
Kisar semua bahan ini dan ketepikan
1 kayu manis
2 bunga lawang
3 biji buah pelaga
1 tangkai daun kari
2 daun pandan
2 sudu besar pes bawang putih halia
300 gram daging lembu (potong beberapa bahagian)
¼ - ½ cawan kicap pekat
1 cawan air
Masak sehingga daging lembu menjadi lembut. Tambahkan air jika perlu.
Hidangkan dengan nasi putih, campurkan semua kari dan enjoy!
