Practice this regularly for healthy & luscious hair! 👇🏻
In Ayurveda, Shiroabhyanga, or head massage, is believed to be very beneficial for healthy hair and body. Regular practice helps de-stress the body, improve blood circulation, help oxygenate the brain, induce sleep, prevent headaches while also maintaining healthy hair and scalp.
While the procedure is usually conducted by a professional, self-practice is not hard. You can start by focusing on these 5 Marma points:
Number 1 -- Adhipati
This is the “soft spot” located roughly 8 finger widths above the eyebrows, approximately at the center of the skull.
Number 2 – Simantaka
This is located 12 finger widths above the eyebrows.
Number 3 -- Krikatika
These are 2 points located on either side at the back of the head, where the neck meets the skull.
Number 4 -- Vidhuram
This is the depression behind both ears, just behind the earlobes.
Number 5 -- Shankha
The depressions on both sides of the forehead between the end of the eyebrow and the hairline (temples).
Massage these 5 points, each for 5 minutes, at least. This type of abhyanga is best practiced every 2 to 3 days.
