Twenty years ago, when you were asked what are the most basic operations in neurosurgery that a resident must learn, the answers you will get would be: Lumbar disc herniation/lumbar stenosis, epidural-subdural hematoma, cranial compression fracture and carpal tunnel syndrome. These surgeries accounted for more than 90% of the operating room hours of a neurosurgeon working in a peripheral hospital. However, nowadays, thoraco-lumbar pedicle screw stabilization has taken its place in our daily practice at least as much as these operations.
Prof. Dr. Uygur Er is explaining the ABCs of thoraco-lumbar pedicle screw application, don't miss it!
