Deut. 17:10-13 – the Lord commands His faithful Israel to obey the priests that He puts in charge, and do
to all that they direct and instruct. The Lord warns that those who do not obey His priests shall die. Today we will hear about our 32nd Pope in Apostolic Successions.
Pope St. Miltiades was the head of the Western Church and bishop of Rome during the years 311 A.D. through 314 A.D. when he died. History does not record the exact year of birth for Pope Miltiades although it does remember that his citizenship was Roman, his ancestry was North African and he was of Berber descent.

CONTRIBUTIONS
Several customs have become associated with Pope Miltiades per the Liber Pontificalis, such as not fasting on Thursdays or Sundays, although subsequent scholarship now believes the customs likely pre-dated Miltiades. Miltiades prescribed the distribution of portions of the bread consecrated by the pope at all of the churches around Rome, the fermentum, as a sign of unity.
In October 312, Constantine defeated Maxentius at the Battle of the Milvian Bridge to become emperor. He later presented the pope with the palace of Empress Fausta, where the Lateran Palace, the papal residence and seat of central Church administration, would be built.
In February 313, Constantine and Licinius, emperor of the eastern part of the Roman Empire, agreed to extend tolerance of Christianity to Licinius' territory, proclaimed by the Edict of Milan. Consequently, Christians not only attained the freedom of worship, but also all places of Christian worship were restored, and all confiscated property returned...
FEAST DAY
His feast was celebrated in the fourth century, on 10 January, according to the "Martyrologium Hieronymianum". In the present "Roman Martyrology" it occurs on 10 December.
