This video provides a direct, side-by-side comparison of nine different classic vintage guitar amplifiers. A 50-second tune is played through each amp with identical guitar settings. Each amp has its tone set to mid-range (if it has a tone control), and its volume adjusted so that output volume is about the same for all nine amps. It is possible, using the cursor at the bottom of the video screen to jump back and forth within the video to make selected comparisons. The guitar signal for all amps was sent through a Digitech RP-90, which added a small (and identical) amount of delay to compensate for poor room acoustics.
NOTE: Detailed videos featuring each of these amplifiers are currently posted on my channel, if you would like to see a closeup examination of any of the nine featured amplifiers and their circuitry.
