This is a recorded livestream of David teaching and playing through the 2nd Edition of Nemo's War by Chris Taylor.
Slighted by an unnamed nation, Captian Nemo has made terrestrial life his sworn enemy. He has taken to the seas in his submersible, the Nautilus, and vowed to exact his revenge against the Imperialists on the surface. His crew - his prisoners - and his ship are at the mercy of his own failing sanity, but his determination is not in question.
Playable cooperatively by 1-4 people, but at its best as a solo game, Nemo's War makes you the omnipresent overseer of Captain Nemo's quest. From the outset you decide how to respond to certain events, what motive(s) Captain Nemo will have throughout his illustrious or damned career as the commander of the Nautilus, and ultimately you will be responsible for the outcome of his quest. In this game, I begin with Nemo's motive being all-out war on the navies of the world, with the hope of inciting rebellion and insurrection wherever he goes.
This has not been featured on the Once Upon a Die podcast, and I had not played it when I made my top 10 last year, but it is safe to say that it is definitely a top 5 game, if not top 3.
Please do leave a comment to let me know what you think, and I would love it if you would follow me on Twitch (www.twitch.tv/onceuponadie) and subscribe to my podcast (search Once Upon a Die on your preferred podcast provider).
While the podcast was the initial focus, and is going to be coming back to life soon, the fact that I cannot easily bring actors to a recording studio right now has encouraged me to speed up my livestream plans, and therefore I am working on the Twitch channel sooner than expected. Any feedback greatly appreciated, and I hope to see you on the channel some time soon.
