A loaded bike, steel deck barge covered in oil & diesel, raised steel strips. What could possibly go wrong?
Crossing the Danube from Romania into Bulgaria (or vice versa) is mainly done by barge, as there are not many bridges along the river. These barges are primarily used by trucks, so can be quite slippery on a bike. The entry and exit can be quite quite steep and again very slippery. We forgot to film the exit off the ferry, which by this time it had starting raining, making it even more challenging. Some of the trucks had to be pulled up by tractor to get off.
