"I wanted to start a brand with a different sort of body and different sample size in mind" - Sinead O'Dwyer

Since graduating from MA Fashion at London’s Royal College of Art in 2018, #BFCNEWGEN recipient (initially awarded in 2022/23) Sinead O'Dwyer has built a reputation for herself and her namesake brand as a trailblazer in fashion, putting inclusivity first.

In the latest episode of Sartorial Stories, a short film series shot by Rankin Entertainment in collaboration with the BFC which celebrates #NEWGEN30, we speak to the pioneering designer about how the #BFCNEWGEN initiative has accelerated her brand onto a global stage.

2023 marks 30 years since the launch of NEWGEN, the BFC’s most established designer showcasing and development initiative with recipients identified by their creativity, aesthetic and innovative approach to design.

Tickets are now on sale for REBEL: 30 years of London Fashion, opening at The Design Museum on 16th September. The collaboration between BFC and Alexander McQueen will celebrate 30 years of our NEWGEN programme.
