The rubber seal in the frame of our 12yr old VELUX skylight window has perished & become brittle, which has let water leak into the body and has been dripping into the kitchen. Apparently it's a common problem.
Keep watching to the end for something you should try first, before using the silicone sealant.
My DIY skills are quite basic, and I could have done a better job & I'm sure I'll be told as much in the comments ;)
As you can see in the video I first tested out whether sealing the frame would work by putting blue-tac into where I thought most of the rain was getting through; it cut down on the volume of water, so I knew I was heading in the right direction, and needed to seal the entire frame.
The silicone adhesive that the local DIY store said to use is here on Amazon; [ Ссылка ] - it sets in about an hour, so you have time to get it right & it can be wiped away with a damp cloth.
On the next window I do, I'm going to try using masking tape to make for a neater finish, but the windows aren't really visible, so as long as they don't leak I'm not too precious about it looking perfect.
I only recommend products I buy & would use myself, and all opinions expressed here are my own. This content may contain affiliate links that (at no additional cost to you) may earn me a small commission.
