Henry Jenkins is a media scholar and provost professor of communication, journalism, cinematic arts and education at the University of Southern California. In the first half of our conversation, we talk about why over time he found himself as a pioneering fandom-minded academic he "had less and less to say about videogames," whether there's still a stigma in being an academic who focuses on pop culture, and how he determines what's mainstream and what isn't.
