My friend Julie (lil pep) and I were invited to dance at our high-school teacher's last dance show. We were both incredibly happy and honoured. For the show, we chose to dance to the song 起风了 (The Wind Rises) by Charlie Zhou. It’s a beautiful song about youth, nostalgia, the passing of time, and warmth. Sometimes it’s used in occasions of goodbye and moving on to a new chapter (ex. graduation). I've tried to let these feelings show through when I choreographed the dance. Both of us graduated a long time ago, but in performing this routine, we felt like we've finally said good-bye to our high-school dance selves (and embracing our present and future dance selves).
Thank you again Ms. Miller for inviting us back to dance, and thank you Julie for performing with me! Enjoy!
