In Thai society that is heavily influenced by STEM academia, writing as a hobby is often looked down upon and deemed as a waste of time. Pann Sripitak talks about his passions in writing despite his family’s skepticism. Through writing, he was able to find stories worth telling and a life worth living. My name is Pann Sripitak and I’m a student at ICS in Thailand. I am Thai and am extremely passionate about Biology as well as writing. I love to write; in fact, I’ve written so many stories that I can’t even remember some of the stories I’ve written. These stories range from short stories to novels up to 150 pages long. It is through my writing that actually helped me overcome many of my own struggles, and it is the process of reflection while I write that made me understand myself better. Writing has taught me so many things, including ideas of trying to hold on to my own identity and continue doing what makes me who I am today. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at [ Ссылка ]
