Occasionally when I mouse over the taskbar in Windows 10 a Microsoft News page comes up. That is annoying and distracts me from my work. To disable/remove this pop-up from happening, here’s what you do:

Right-click on the taskbar anywhere except for an icon or button.

From the context menu that appears, hover over the "News and interests" option.

In the "News and interests", you can either choose "Turn off" to turn off the feature completely or choose "Open on hover" to keep the feature but stop it from popping up automatically.

You can follow the opposite process if for some reason you would like the annoying news pop-up to be restored.
