With the aim of encouraging young poets and writers, Kali O Kalam, a monthly Bengali arts and literary magazine published from Bangladesh, has been giving out the Kali O Kalam Torun Kabi O Lekhak Puroshkar (Young Poets and Writers Award) since 2008. The 16th edition of the award, Kali O Kalam Torun Kabi O Lekhak Puroshkar 2023, was conferred on April 27, 2024. The award is supported by IFIC Bank Limited.
The celebrated Rabindra Sangeet artist Rezwana Choudhury Bannya enthralled the audience with performance at the award ceremony. Rezwana Choudhury Bannya is accompanied by musicians Bimal Hawladar and Ajoy Das on Tablas; Khokon Mridha on the Pad & Percussion; Binod Roy on the Keyboard; Moniruzzaman on the Flute and Ananda Shikdar on the Mandolin.

Bengal Foundation has been promoting Bengali music for decades in order to nurture and uphold the musical traditions of Bengal. The Foundation releases a wide selection of Bengali albums to the public, conducts workshops, and well as create opportunities to train under distinguished musicians at the Bengal Parampara Sangeetalay. Bengal Foundation’s music programme also frequently organises a number of large scale music events which include the Bengal Classical Music Festival.
Bengal Foundation’s music programme aims to pave the way for better appreciation and understanding of the fundamentals of music; as well as to energise, influence and promote the music industry of Bangladesh.
