Hello Railfans of the Cajon Pass. We went over to Verdemont this evening to relax and wind down from the weekend. As I was rail fanning over at the BNSF tracks I heard a milepost detector on the Union Pacific Palmdale Cutoff on my Bearcat radio receiver. Didn’t which way the train was heading but I can hear the engines from here either way when the trains gets close. Sure enough two or three minutes later I can hear the engines coming up from the south so I made my move over to the Palmdale Cutoff nearby. The tracks here are actually built down in the wash but built up quite a bit to keep them out of the water. When it rains here the water flows on both sides of the tracks. I didn’t have to wait long when we hear the horn sounding for a beautiful mixed Manifest freight train heading our way. We get a nice horn salute as the loud beautiful locomotives pass by. The sun has just set behind the mountains and we’re in twilight zone. I really enjoy shooting this time of day. Please subscribe ✅🔔 to the channel and give us a Like 👍 Thanks
