This video shows plasma electron density in a modified version of the "jet" color map. The simulation was performed with the particle-in-cell code SCPIC. The simulation launched a relativisticly intense short pulse laser (not shown) from the left boundary into the under-dense plasma. The awful sounding audio was produced by Fourier transforming the plasma density and actually represents waves in the plasma.
