Even as provinces across the country have eased COVID-19 restrictions, Canada has seen a rise in infections fuelled by the BA.2 subvariant of Omicron.

Canada’s top doctor confirmed Tuesday that we are now in a sixth wave of COVID-19.

Quebec and PEI are the only provinces with a mask mandate still in place, waiting until after the holidays to relax this measure. As Jamie Mauracher explains, officials are urging Canadians to use protective measures to stay safe during the holiday.
