As the result of changes in the international economic environment in the recent decades the importance of emerging markets has grown. The dynamics of their development at domestic and foreign markets reveals great potential for trade and financial exchange between Latin American countries.
MERCOSUR is one of the most promising integrated alliances in the world that encompasses powerful economies, markets with strong potential and extremely important humanitarian space. The bloc currently comprises five permanent members (Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Paraguay, and Venezuela) and some associated countries.
The conference covered the following issues:
1. Evolution of MERCOSUR: establishment of the Southern Cone common market and institutional and legal framework for the whole bloc and for each member country individually;
2. Relevant problems and future of integration within MERCOSUR;
3. Integration processes as a factor, contributing to the harmonization of national legislations within MERCOSUR;
4. Potential ways of collaboration between Russia and MERCOSUR countries in the global legal framework.
5. Future of MERCOSUR foreign affairs in the legal context in terms of cooperation with third parties and such integrated alliances as the Eurasian Economic Union, European Union, and the North American Free Trade Area.
