Yep, Lana Turner and Kirk Douglas are supposed to be the main event here, in this "behind the glitter" story of Hollywood, but it's the B plot that we enjoyed here - with Dick Powell as a writer (a bit more believably than in his turn in SUSAN SLEPT HERE, or maybe that was just the seamier subject matter?) ... and Gloria Grahame as his lovable yet flaky wife.
