All divers should carry a delayed surface marker buoy (DSMB) when diving in the ocean or a large body of water. If they need to signal their location to the shore or a boat, the DSMB is a highly visible marker that they can deploy underwater or at the surface. Learn how to deploy a DSMB while at the surface.
