Deriving the continuity equation in rectangular coordinates is the focus of this video. The continuity equation describes the density of a mass at some point in space, this can also be called the conservation of mass as mass cannot be destroyed nor created. In the following two videos we will derive the conservation of mass in cylindrical and spherical coordinates.
