Hello & welcome along on this walk! If you're new here - my name is Sarah and each week I head out on a walk with my faithful companion Jack Spaniels, to explore somewhere in this beautiful country of Scotland and hopefully find something to paint back in my studio at home.
Today we are heading to Perthshire to make the most of the beautiful autumn leaves in 'Big Tree Country'. The beautiful village off Kenmore sits on the shore of Loch Tay and we explore along the River Tay to find the mysterious follies that lie hidden on the Taymouth Castle Estate.
We also visit the Scottish Crannog Centre - where the Iron Age is brought to life. The reconstructed crannog house tragically burnt down last summer, but the living museum is still working hard to bring this amazing piece of pre-historic architecture back to life once more.
This time of year is perfect mushroom hunting season and today didn't disappoint. We found some beautiful scarlet wax caps - bright red mushrooms which seem to have an otherworldly orange glow, even on a gloomy, direct Scottish day. See if I managed to capture them in watercolour at the end of the video!
If you enjoyed this video and you haven't already, please do hit subscribe and check out my other videos - including the three special Skye episodes, where we explore some incredible Scottish scenery. Join me again next week as we explore somewhere else in Scotland and look for painting inspiration...
