Ingredients:
Onion – 3 big (Thinly sliced)
Ginger – 1 big piece (Crushed)
Garlic – 6 fat cloves (Crushed)
Curry leaves
Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
Coriander powder – 1 tbsp
Red chilly powder - ¾ tsp or as per taste
Lemon juice – 1 tsp
Tomato – ½ (Chopped)
Fennel powder - ¼ tbsp
Garam masala - ¼ tbsp
Oil
Salt
Steps:
Heat oil in a pan. Add onion, curry leaves and salt.
When onion becomes soft, add ginger and garlic.
Saute till the oil starts to separate.
Add turmeric powder and saute till the raw smell goes away.
Add coriander powder and saute for about 3-4 minutes.
Add red chilly powder and saute.
Add lemon juice, garam masala, fennel seed powder and tomato.
Cover and cook on medium flame till the tomato is done.
Take care not to burn the masala. Switch off
Enjoy the fried onion masala with rice, chapati or appam.
