Welcome to another video in the series "Recent Hot Topics". The focus of this video is plastic eating bacteria, a hot topic in the media over the past few years. In this video we will cover plastic, how plastic is degraded, bacteria, and the specifics of plastic eating bacteria. We will discuss a timeline over which plastic eating bacteria was discovered, current research, limitations and challenges, and future research necessary within the field.
This video was made by McMaster students Sarah Afshar, Austin Barr, Rachel Carson, Emma Koster, and Nathalia Kulatunga in collaboration with the McMaster Demystifying Medicine Program.
