High Myopia is a significant risk factor for Rhegmatogenous Retinal Detachment and this is termed as Pathological Myopia.
This patient had a retinal detachment Surgery in the opposite eye, and came for regular checkup for this eye as well.
on Indirect ophthalmoscooy, diffuse chorioretinal Atrophy and a temporal Crescent was noted. On examining the periphery, a very small Horse-Shoe Break was seen , but SRF surrounding it was very minimal, thus not causing Retinal Detachment Yet. keeping the condition of the opposite eye in mind, this patient was refered for Urgent Barrage Laser.
