You know.... it always seems when you're finally getting into a rhythm of making progress, things conspire to throw you off track!

That was this week for me.

First, I realized that my starter solenoid fix wasn't really working. Well, to be fair, my fix did work... it was the starter solenoid that wasn't really working.

Then, while driving the bulldozer I was smelling engine coolant burning. I tracked that issue down to an ancient hose clamp that had finally failed, which spilled coolant all over the diesel engine.

FINALLY, out of nowhere, my pony motor started giving me issues. It just wouldn't fire. The starter would just crank and crank without turning the gas engine over. Eventually when it did turn over, it very quickly stalled out, almost like it was being starved of gas. By playing around with the choke, I was able to consistently keep it running.... but it shouldn't require full choke, all the time, to stay running!

I'm hoping someone might be able to help me out. I WAS able to get the diesel engine running by consistently playing with the choke while also manipulating all the levers needed to start the diesel engine. That is not optimal though - I'd like to see if there are some symptoms that people see or hear in this week's video which might elude to a common issue or an easily fixed problem.
