Trump's first impeachment - 2020
Sen. Maggie Hassan, D-N.H., called Republicans’ various assertions that President Donald Trump had the right to withhold U.S. aid from Ukraine or would not repeat past mistakes “absurd.” Speaking on the Senate floor on Feb. 5, Hassan said she would vote to convict Trump of two articles of impeachment later that day because the “very foundation of our security and American idea requires it.” After the Senate voted last week to bar new witness testimony and subpoenas for documents, Trump’s acquittal has seemed all but assured. The House of Representatives impeached Trump in December on two articles of impeachment — abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.
