Exploring Guimarães, the birthplace of Portugal 🇵🇹 It is a very wonderful destination and is a great example of a traditional and peaceful northern Portuguese city. Found within the compact centre are narrow cobbled streets, fine examples of medieval architecture and delightful plazas filled with open air cafes. In 2001, this historic Portuguese city was declared as a UNESCO World Heritage site due to its significance in the history of Portugal, well-preserved gothic buildings and rich culture. It's very near to Porto (an hour train ride at a very cheap fare price) and it's truly worth the discovery! Hoping to be back again for more of this Portuguese town!
