The Kitchen is a unique space in New York, with what curator Lumi Tan describes as a “non-hierarchical” approach to programming in both gallery and theater spaces. As a curator, Tan finds that this hybrid setting offers flexibility and encourages artists to work with new modes of presentation and audience interaction.
